[NOTES: This information is from a personal letter dated 1948, in the collection of The DeKalb County Genealogical & Historical Society. The Little Red School House Cemetery, which no longer exists, was located near the family farms of their sons Jacob, Leonard, and John Aurner. On 17 March 1880, Leonard and Ellen Aurner executed a quit-claim deed donating land for an addition to this cemetery (Deed Book 65, page 436; deed #10008). More details are on the DeKalb County GenWeb site.]

[NOTE: Much info on some descendants of Heinrich and Elisabeth was provided by descendant (Reverend Doctor) Josephine (Auner) Barnes, of Des Moines, Iowa, who had compiled a separate genealogy of these families. Her research is designated by the citation “(R)”.]
